Craigneuk vs Barrhead

Craigneuk brought back into their line up Ian Wallace, Tam McKnight and new signing Andy Wands .Playing on a perfect park Neuk kept the ball on the ground with some nice passing moves indeed they had Barrhead on the back foot for the first 20 minutes .

Ian Wallace intercepted a loose ball in the middle of the park he then played in Shaun Thomson who lost his marker, rolled the ball to striker Andy Wands and from 18 yards he fired the ball into the net to mark his debut. Craigneuk were flying when a move involving Murray and young Nathan Fisher he then crossed over only to see Wands to fire wide Than Thomson on the left fired a cross to the back post McKnight rose above the defence only to see his effort go inches wide .Barrhead started to come back into the game and scored off a quick free kick with the Neuks defence all claiming for offside Sameru saved the first shot only to be beaten with when the ball fell to Barrhead forward, Craigneuk regrouped S Rooney and Wallace were controlling the midfield ,once again Thomson and Hill combined on the left with Thomson crossing for McKnight to Header the ball into the net from 6 yards.

Barrhead come right back at Neuk and scored after Moon played a pass back to Semaru who fluffed his kick right to the Barrhead forward and with no one near him he fired it into the bottom corner with Sameru stranded (halftime 2-2). Craigneuk seemed rattled they couldn’t get the foot on the ball Barrhead seemed to get a lift from the goal and kept pushing Craigneuk back then out of nothing their forward controlled the ball in the Neuks box and going no were turned into Moon and Murray and fell .The ref gave a penalty, nobody could believe it Barrhead forward stepped up and fired past the Neuks keeper (2-3).

Manager McKeown changed McKnight with Drysdale and Neuk started pressing Barrhead back, Fisher broke free on the left beat two defenders and fired passed the keeper only for the defender clearing it. Wands Drysdale Thomson all had efforts saved by the Barrhead goalie. Craigneuk were pushing for a equaliser and were caught on the break ,a poor pass was intercepted Barrhead attacked down the wing crossed over for the forward to stab the ball past Sameru (2-4). With 10 minutes remaining Neuk changed their tactics, off came Thomson and Fisher with Drysdale coming wide Chris McKeown and D Phillips coming on. Phillips moved into defence with Moon moving up front to play alongside Wands and McKeown and it paid off as Drysdale kept beating there defender and firing into the box, it was only a matter of time before they got a goal back but time was running out (or was it). After a few Wallace corners Drysdale left the defence for dead crossed over and Wand’s diving header fired the ball into the Barrhead net. Barrhead were rattled. Phillips then moved upfront, Neuk know playing with 5 forwards kept firing the ball into the box. Wands had a effort deflected by from the resulting corner Moon was fouled in the box and the ref pointed to the spot, captain Rooney collected the ball and handed it to DEBUTANT Wands to go for his HATRICK and he made no mess of it as he fired it into the roof of the net.

Final score 4-4
